About this tool

The SVG Optimizer minifies SVG files by removing editor cruft: comments, hidden layers, redundant attributes, default values, and excessive decimal precision. Exported SVGs from Figma or Illustrator often shrink 30–70% with zero visual change.

Smaller SVGs mean faster pages, especially when icons are inlined in HTML. The optimizer shows before/after sizes so you can verify the savings, and you can tune precision to balance size against curve fidelity.

How to use

  1. 1Paste SVG markup or load an .svg file.
  2. 2Click Optimize to minify it.
  3. 3See exactly how many bytes were saved.
  4. 4Copy or download the optimized SVG.

Frequently asked questions

Design tools embed editor metadata, unused definitions, verbose precision (8+ decimals), and default attributes. None of it affects rendering — the optimizer strips it all safely.
